KUCHING, Aug 24: Police issued compounds to 16 locals and seven foreigners for violating the  Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) set by the government here on Sunday.

Kuching District Police chief, ACP Awang Din Awang Gani said police checked two locations  located at the Kuching Waterfront area and an entertainment centre at Jalan Song.

“A total of 13 locals who were at the public area and three local customers from the entertainment centre were compounded for not social distancing themselves among each other,” he said in a press statement.

According to Awang Din, the police had also compounded seven foreigners for not social distancing themselves.

“Although compounds were issued almost every day to the SOP violators, the public are  still getting lazy in complying with the SOP. With new Covid-19 cases that happened recently, the public are urged to cooperate in order to stop the spread of the Covid-19 virus,” he pointed out.-DayakDaily
