‘No village lockdown, it’s fake news’ — JPBN

KUCHING, March 29: A message circulating in the social media about a “Dato Temenggong” asking for particulars from local villagers for a possible lockdown at Kampung No 3, 4 and 6, here, is fake.

Sarawak State Disaster Management Committee (JBPN) advised the public not to believe the message, which has been circulating in WhatsApp.

“JBPN would like to inform the public that the statement, which circulated in the social media from a ‘Dato Temenggong’ is not true,” the committee said in a statement.

The message claimed that the instruction was from an unnamed “Dato Temenggong”, who was said would be having a meeting with the state disaster management committee chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas tomorrow (March 30).

The message was asking for cooperation from the local villagers from Kampung No 3 and those in the surrounding areas of Darul Uyuun Mosque for their particulars, such as the head name of the head of the family and number of person in the household, for arrangement of delivery of essential items, as there was a possibility of a lockdown at Kampung No, 3, 4, and 6. — DayakDaily
