KUCHING, March 10: The search for a boy who is feared drowned after going missing while fishing yesterday near the Kampung Buntal jetty entered its second day today.

He was carried away by the river current after he fell into the river.

Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) together with Malaysia Civil Defence Force (APM) used boats to search the river.

A team of divers was also deployed also but was prevented from diving due to strong river currents in the evening.

Meanwhile, search teams comprising Bomba personnel and villagers continued to scan the river surface for signs of the missing boy who is aged 11.

The search is ongoing. — DayakDaily
