No new Covid-19 clusters, but active clusters still growing

KUCHING, Aug 31: No new Covid-19 clusters were announced in Sarawak today but the Jero Gelasah Cluster in Subis logged the highest number of new cases at 35, among all 131 clusters currently active in the State.

Thus, the tally for the Jero Gelasah Cluster as of today stands at 50.

Despite registering the highest number of new cases among all active clusters today, the Jero Gelasah Cluster is not the largest active cluster.

The Long Urun Cluster in Belaga holds that dubious position a cumulative 647 cases of which six were reported today.

The wedding cluster of Bungey 2 Cluster in Betong is in second place with a total of 640 cases, 22 of which were reported today.

Other active clusters recording new cases today are the Kaman Cluster with 12 cases and Belinggai Ulu Niah Cluster in Niah with six new cases.

The Kampung Simpok Cluster, KM20 of Jalan Betong Cluster and Ladang 0004 Cluster in Kuala Baram recorded four new cases each while the Ladang Hijau 1 Cluster and Kampung Paon Rimu Cluster had two cases each.

The Kampung Lintang Baru Cluster, Opar Cluster, Mundai Cluster and Sungai Ringin Cluster all registered one new Covid-19 case each.

In Miri, the Tembok Miri Cluster which has accumulated 408 cases did not record any new cases. So too the Kampung Seratau Cluster in Kuching which has accumulated 383 cases so far.

Other active clusters in Kuching such as Kampung Bunuk (308 cases in total), Kampung Bintawa Ulu (270), Kampung Bintawa Hilir (234), areas involving Sentosa 2 Cluster (222) and Kampung Quop (204) also reported zero new cases today.

Meanwhile, the Kampung Kendaie Cluster in Lundu, Kampung Sungai Duuh Cluster in Serian and Kampung Mega Suai Cluster in Subis which have cumulative cases of 241, 275 and 242 respectively also registered no new cases despite being active clusters. — DayakDaily
