No new Covid-19 cluster emerges while Sg Pelepak Cluster sees most cases

KUCHING, July 11: No new Covid-19 clusters were reported today while the Sungai Pelepak Cluster in Meradong reported the most number of new cases among the active clusters in Sarawak.

According to the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in its daily Covid-19 update, the Sungai Pelepak Cluster reported 14 new cases.


The cluster was identified on July 4 and involves residents of a longhouse in Meradong which has since been placed under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO).

It was the sole active cluster which registered double-digit increases in new cases while 11 active clusters registered single-digit gains.

They include Kilometer 85 Mukah with nine cases, Lunyim Cluster in Telang Usan with seven cases, Pasar Basah Cluster in Mukah (6), Nanga Tada Cluster in Kanowit (5), Kilometre 23 Jalan Puncak Borneo in Kuching (2), Jalan Kidurong Lima Cluster in Bintulu (2), Sungai Sengkabang Cluster in Subis (2), Nanga Sejugam Cluster in Julau (1), Mongkos 2 Cluster in Tebedu (1), Tema Saan Cluster in Tebedu (1), and Benteng Cluster in Sri Aman (1).

Altogether, 51 new Covid-19 cases were linked to 12 active clusters in the State.

There were also no active clusters reported to have ended. — DayakDaily
