No new Covid-19 cases, 17 patients still in hospital

KUCHING, June 23: No new Covid-19 cases were reported in Sarawak today with 17 active cases still receiving treatment in hospitals.

Thus, the state’s tally is maintained at 569 cases and 17 deaths.

According to the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today, there were no recoveries and as such, the total number of recovered cases in Sarawak stays at 535 or 94.02 per cent of total positive cases so far.


As of today, 17 patients are being treated in hospitals throughout the state with none admitted to Intensive Care Units (ICU) or requiring respiratory support.

There are eight patients treated in Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) and nine in Bintulu Hospital.

Two districts in Sarawak are still labelled Covid-19 yellow zones (registering 40 or fewer Covid-19 cases), namely Kuching and Bintulu.

Meanwhile, the state also registered 20 more person-under-investigation (PUI) cases today while four cases are still awaiting laboratory test results.

There are also 62 more persons-under-surveillance (PUS) who have been checked into identified hotels to undergo compulsory 14-day quarantines.

As of today, there are a total number of 961 individuals undergoing quarantine in 14 hotels throughout the state. — DayakDaily
