KUCHING, April 20: Restaurants and eateries in Sibu, Selangau and Kanowit are not allowed to accept dine-ins and may only accept takeaway, drive-through and delivery orders under new Covid-19 SOPs set by SDMC.

To curb the surge of Covid-19 cases in Sibu Division, a private vehicle is now limited to carrying only three persons.

The new standard operating procedures (SOPs) set by Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) are effective tomorrow (April 21) until April 26.

SDMC hopes that these stricter restrictions would act as a six-day circuit breaker to keep Covid-19 cases in check in the division.

Though essential services are allowed to operate, the new SOPs only allow 50 per cent employee capacity in a business premises, and only after police permits have been obtained.

Operating hours for all essential service operators are now restricted, from 6am to 8pm, while other sectors are not allowed to operate.

Sports and leisure activities are also not allowed. — DayakDaily
