News of Jalan Bulan Sabit `collapsing’ untrue, says rep

MIRI, July 6: Warnings, audio messages and text message circulating in the social media this morning with claims that Jalan Bulan Sabit will collapse are fake.

“The messages are Jalan Bulan Sabit will collapse is fake,” said Piasau assemblyman Datuk Sebastian Ting when contacted today.


“I spoke to the Miri City Council (MCC), Sarawak director of Sewage Department and Sim Yih Seng of Hock Seng Lee Bhd, the person-in-charge of this project.

“They confirmed the audio and the messages that have gone viral are fake news.”

According to Ting, checks on site showed that actual tunnelling work had not even started.

“The contractor has lodged a police report regarding this matter,” said Ting. — DayakDaily
