New student intake for public colleges and universities to continue as usual

KUCHING, April 16: The enrolment of new students this year into public colleges and universities for the 2020/2021 session will proceed as usual.

The Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) in a statement disclosed application remains open until tomorrow (April 17) through UPUOnline.

The intake for Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) graduates will be opened on June 3 whilst the intake for Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) graduates will be opened on August 18.

MoHE added that public colleges and universities will begin intakes for new students for foundation and diploma programmes including matriculation courses in July or August and for undergraduate studies in October 2020.

In the meantime, MoHE noted that the dates of the SPM and STPM examinations have been deferred to the first quarter of next year.

Subsequently, those graduates will be included in the next intake for public colleges and universities for the 2021/2022 academic session.

Enrolment will open in July or August 2021 for foundation and diploma programmes, including matriculation programmes, whilst intake for degree programmes will be in October 2021. — DayakDaily
