KUCHING, May 16: The proposed new Sibu Rural District Council (SRDC) building in Sibu Jaya is currently in the design stage.
Deputy Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government I (Public Health and Housing) Datu Dr Penguang Manggil said the project was approved under the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) whereby the sitting approval was already obtained.
“The procurement of the project would be through open tender, to be called by end of 2023 and it is expected to be completed in 2025,” he said when responding to a question from Bawang Assan assemblyman Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh during the question-and-answer session in the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting here today.
Dr Penguang also mentioned that the building will be located at Lot 7200, Block 1, Menyan Land District Sibu Jaya, opposite the SRDC Public Library and Sibujaya Police Station.
Meanwhile, the project is estimated to cost RM27,999,500. — DayakDaily
