KUCHING, May 24: A new cluster of Covid-19 which involved a government agency at a government administrative centre in Selumit in Tanjung Manis has infected 11 people.
According to reports from Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), the Selumit Cluster is a workplace cluster which involves a government agency.
SDMC said a total of 91 individuals have been screened for Covid-19.
Out of the 91 individuals, 11 were tested positive including the index case, 33 tested negative and the balance of 47 were awaiting the results for their Covid-19 swab test.
SDMC added all the positive cases have been referred to Sibu Hospital and admitted to the quarantine and low-risk treatment centre in Sibu for isolation and further treatment.
In the meantime, there are 85 active clusters of Covid-19 in Sarawak.
Out of the 85 active clusters, seven active clusters reported 45 new cases of Covid-19 while the balance of 77 active clusters did not report new cases. — DayakDaily
