KUCHING, Nov 7: The Land and Survey Department (L&S) has announced the opening of the newly completed road under the proposed realignment of road project at KM6, Jalan Kelupu, Bintangor (Phase 2).
The project will now move into its final phase, involving the construction of a 1.2-metre diametre reinforced concrete (RC) pipe culvert near Junction B (refer to photo) along the existing road. To facilitate this work, a temporary traffic diversion will be implemented.
Starting tomorrow, Nov 8, 2025, the existing road section will be temporarily closed, while traffic will be diverted to the newly completed carriageway. The diversion will remain in effect until Nov 20, 2025, when the culvert construction is expected to be completed.
L&S advises all road users to adhere to the traffic arrangements and observe all traffic signage for their safety. For residents residing along the existing road, access will still be permitted, and traffic controllers will assist by opening the barriers when necessary. – DayakDaily
