KUCHING, May 25: The MySejahtera app will release a new feature by the end of this week to enable pregnant and lactating women to register for Covid-19 vaccinations.

When announcing this, the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) Coordinating Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said however, pregnant women are advised to seek consultation from their respective doctors first.

“According to the guidelines that have been issued recently, the recommendation is for this group to be vaccinated within 14 to 33 weeks of pregnancy.

“The advisory now is that for pregnant women between 12 and 33 weeks of gestation, the Pfizer vaccine is the recommended vaccine,” he said in a virtual press conference via Zoom today.

Khairy also said the Special Committee on Covid-19 Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee (JKJAV) would deliberate on the policy this week. Upon achieving consensus, the Committee will announce the procedure to book vaccination appointments for pregnant and lactating mothers. — DayakDaily
