New Covid-19 cases in Sarawak rise to 22 today

KUCHING, Jan 11: The number of new Covid-19 cases in Sarawak increased to 22 today from seven reported yesterday.

This brought the cumulative number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Sarawak to 252,527.

According to the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee’s (SDMC) report, two of the 22 cases were in the critical stages of Categories 3, 4, and 5, while the remaining 20 cases were in the less severe stages of Categories 1 and 2.

For cases in the critical stage, two patients have pneumonia while none were on ventilators or required breathing support.

There were nine cases classified as Category 2 (mild symptoms) and 11 categorised as Category 1 (asymptomatic).

By district, Kuching ranked top with eight cases followed by Samarahan (3), Bintulu (2), Sibu (2), and Limbang (2).

Miri, Lawas, Serian, Beluru, and Matu reported one case each.
