Nearly 900 expected to converge on PBB mini convention on Saturday

MIRI, Sept 4: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu Sarawak (PBB) deputy president Datuk Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said everything went smoothly during the final rehearsal for PBB’s Northern region mini-convention set to be held on Saturday (Sept 5).

Nearly 900 PBB delegates from 17 branches in the Northern Region are scheduled to converge at the convention on Saturday which will be graced by the party president, Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg on Saturday (Sept 5) around 3pm.


“Everything was fine, and I’m satisfied with the full raptai today(Friday),” Awang Tengah stated when met today (Sept 4), after visiting the final preparation for the event.

Also expected to present are Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, other PBB supreme council members, president and secretary generals of the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) component parties (six), non PBB GPS ADUN and Members of Parliment (MP) in the Northern Zone.

PBB`s branches from the Northern Region to take part in the convention are Murum; Jepak; Tanjong Batu; Kemena; Samalaju; Bekenu; Lambir; Piasau; Pujut; Senadin;  Marudi; Telang Usan; Mulu; Bukit Sari ; Batu Danau ; Ba Kelalan and Bukit Sari.

Among issues to be discussed and deliberated during the one-day convention are land matters as well as briefing sessions to the party`s officers on the latest issues pertaining to Sarawak’s oil and gas.—DayakDaily
