Nearly 300 swimmers set to compete in 7th PASC Inter-Primary School Swimming Competition on July 28

KUCHING, July 17: Nearly 300 swimmers from 35 schools in Kuching and Samarahan will be vying for top honours at the 7th Power Aquatics Swimming Club (PASC) Inter-Primary School Swimming Competition which is set to take place at the Sarawak Youth and Sports Complex on July 28.

According to a media release, SJK Chung Hua No 3 Kuching is leading the charge with the largest contingent of 43 athletes, aiming to defend its title after emerging as the champion in last year’s sixth edition of the competition.

Hot on their heels is Lodge International School with 35 swimmers, followed closely by St Joseph Private School, which will be represented by 33 athletes.

Participants will compete in individual and team relay events over distances ranging from 50m to 100m, with races in the freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, and butterfly categories.

Gold, silver, and bronze medals will be awarded to the winners, along with certificates of participation for all swimmers.

Trophies will be awarded to the Best Boy and Best Girl teams and the top swimmers in each age group, adding an extra layer of excitement.

PASC advisor Voon Yong Hui highlighted the significance of the competition, stating, “This event serves as a platform for young swimmers to display their talent, learn good sportsmanship, set their goals, and cope with disappointments.”
