Navy helicopter crash: MCMC advises public against sharing video clips

CYBERJAYA, April 23: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has advised the public to refrain from sharing any video clips of the Royal Malaysian Navy helicopter crash that happened today in Lumut, Perak.

In a statement issued today, it reminded the public that the transmission of communications with characteristics that threaten, offend or disturb others is prohibited under the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 (CMA 1998).

ā€œWe would also like to remind the public to not upload or share videos of the incident to prevent committing an offence under the CMA 1998. We also ask for those who have uploaded the video to take it down.

ā€œNetizens should be sensitive towards and respect the victimsā€™ grieving families,ā€ it said.
