National Audit to review Sarawak Metro in mid-Dec, reaffirming anti-corruption commitment

KUCHING, Nov 29: The National Audit Department Malaysia is set to begin its audit of Sarawak Metro in mid-December 2024.

As part of its commitment to transparency and strong governance, Sarawak Metro representatives visited the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and the Sarawak Integrity and Ombudsman Unit (UNIONS) yesterday (Nov 28) to follow up on their invitation for these agencies to observe the upcoming audit.

In a media release today, Sarawak Metro reaffirmed its openness to the involvement of relevant government authorities and agencies in reviewing its processes, emphasising its zero-tolerance policy toward any form of corruption.

The National Audit Department Malaysia notified Sarawak Metro of its intent to conduct the audit on Nov 7, 2024.

In addition to the audit, Sarawak Metro is also advancing toward obtaining the Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) ISO 37001:2016 certification, having recently completed its Stage 2 Certification Audit.
