Nation logs 1,924 Covid-19 infections with eight new clusters in six states

KUCHING, Feb 25: The country recorded a total of 1,924 new positive Covid-19 cases as of today, with eight new clusters identified in six states.

Ministry of Health (MOH) director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a statement today, said out of the total number of cases recorded today, 1,542 cases involved Malaysian (80.4 per cent), and 375 cases involved foreigners (19.6 per cent), while six other cases were import cases involving two Malaysian and four foreigners.

“Selangor reported the highest number of new cases today with a total of 666 cases (34.6 per cent of total daily cases), followed by Johor with 257 cases (13.4 per cent), and Sarawak with 219 cases (11.4 per cent).


“This brings the total cumulative number of positive Covid-19 cases in the country to 293,698 cases,” he said.

He added others state which also recorded new cases today are namely Kuala Lumpur (218), Pulau Pinang (162), Perak (120), Sabah (93), Negeri Sembilan (62), Kelantan (44) Kedah (29), Melaka (22), Pahang (19), Terengganu (six), Labuan (four), Putrajaya (two) and Perlis (one).

At the same time, Dr. Noor Hisham revealed the eight new cluster were also identified today namely the Industry 19 Cluster, SS Lapan Cluster and Industri Jalan Empat Cluster in Selangor, Jalan Putra Silang Cluster in Kuala Lumpur, Tapak Bina Indera Mahkota Cluster in Pahang, Kampung Mak Teh Cluster in Perak, Jalan Ho Pin Cluster in Sarawak, and Lorong Murni Cluster in Pulau Pinang,

“All eight clusters involved a total of 151 individuals who were tested positive for Covid-19,” he said.

On the same note, Dr Noor Hisham revealed a total of 12 death cases involving were also recorded in Selangor (nine), Sarawak (two) and Pulau Pinang (one).

“All of the death cases involved Malaysian, and MOH would like to convey condolences to all of their family members,” he added. –DayakDaily.
