KUCHING, March 19: A Narcotics Nucleus Secretariat (SNN) will be established in Tebedu to combat drug distribution activities in Sarawak.
According to Bukit Aman Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (JSJN) director Datuk Khaw Kok Chin, the SNN will act as an information and liaison centre between local agencies and counterparts in the exchange of information related to drug smuggling.
“It aims to ensure quick action in handling information related to drug activities by delivering the information directly to the police in Bukit Aman and the Sarawak contingent,” he said.
According to a Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) report, he said this after paying a courtesy call to Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at his office in Wisma Bapa Malaysia today.
Meanwhile, he said that 128 vacancies for JSJN police personnel will be opened in 13 districts in Sarawak to fill vacant positions in districts that need more enforcement officers. — DayakDaily
