SIBU, July 16: Nangka assemblyman Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee has allocated RM200,000 to add a dressing room and toilet facilities to the newly completed artificial football field in Permai Jaya.
The Deputy Minister for Education, Innovation and Talent Development told this to reporters after officiating the start of the first football match held at the said field here last night.
He also revealed that more audience seats would be installed in stages.
Dr Annuar expressed his satisfaction with the community’s positive response to the soft launch of the field and disclosed it has been booked until the end of the month.
“This means that our community’s response to the use of this field is very encouraging. So far, it’s only a promotion, where the payment rate for the use of the field during the day is RM250 and at night is RM350 without referees,” he said.
Dr Annuar said that all the bookings and payments for the field will soon be able to be done online.
“I hope this synthetic field will be managed well and professionally by those who are in charge, so that it can benefit the community in Sibu,” he added.
Meanwhile, on the tournament, Dr Annuar disclosed that 16 teams are competing, with matches scheduled to continue until October.
“Today is the first day of the football tournament held at this synthetic Field. This tournament is also the first on this synthetic field after its soft opening last month,” he said. — DayakDaily
