KUCHING, Dec 8: Nando’s is set to open doors to its very first outlet in the city at The Spring Bintulu tomorrow (Dec 9), just in time for the year end festivities! Born in South Africa with a blend of Portuguese heritage, Nando’s finally brings their fiery PERi-PERi flavours, vibrant art, music and vibes to the beautiful port city of Bintulu.
According to a media release, at the heart of Nando’s is the magical ingredient African Bird’s Eye Chilli also known as PERi-PERi. Grown in partnership with over 1,400 independent farmers in Southern Africa, these chilies are mixed with fresh onions, herbs, lemons and a kick of garlic to create the much-loved Nando’s PERi-PERi sauce.
Every chicken is marinated in PERi-PERi for 24 hours so flavour gets right to the bone. It’s then flame-grilled, melting all the fats so it stays healthier yet juicy and tender, then finally basted with your choice of flavour ranging from Lemon & Herb to the fiery Extra Hot.

Sharing platters for 4 or 2 with sides ranging from rice, fresh vegetables and chips; easy-to-eat bowls, burgers, wraps and even vegetarian options. Large families and parties can gather around family-sized tables for 8 while sharing a plate of 12 PERi-PERi wings or the all-new PERi-BBQ Feast for four with one whole chicken, five regular sides, four bottomless drinks and four Portuguese Nata. Those searching for a quick meal can settle into the cosy bunk seats patterned in colourful South African designs while sharing a PERi-BBQ Feast for 2.
Dining at Nando’s is meant to feel like home. Hosting a chicken wing eating contest or worried the kids will eat with their hands? Nando’s has you covered with friendly smiles and wash basins. Thinking of a romantic dinner but not too fancy? The restaurant is filled with original Southern African art and upbeat Afro-luso (African-Portuguese) music.
Nando’s is also known for being great value. Enjoy bottomless soft drinks, coffee, hot chocolate, tea and endless PERi-PERi sauce. Fans can also join the Nando’s loyalty programme through the mobile app, earning a full chicken meal after only three visits, along with birthday treats and exclusive member perks.
Nando’s Bintulu will be opening our doors at Lot No. G41, Ground Floor, The Spring Shopping Mall, with a lot of chicken and heat! From December 9 to 12, the first 100 fans who buys a bottomless drink each day will get a quarter chicken on them.
