Nancy: MyCSR programme to help boost livelihoods in Batang Sadong

Dato Sri Nancy Shukri

KUCHING, Oct 24: The MyCSR programme through Malaysia Convention and Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) is able to help improve the income and economic status of local communities as a whole.

According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) today, Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture (Motac) Dato Sri Nancy Shukri said the objective of the MyCSR@Batang Sadong programme is to help improve and empower the entrepreneurial skills of women and youth.

“My ministry, through the MyCSR@Batang Sadong will provide the equipment needed such as tools for pastry and baked goods-making to increase the production capacity of women entrepreneurs in Batang Sadong.

“This initiative is important so that they can be independent and have stable financial capability through commercial cooking or catering projects,” she said during the MyCSR@Batang Sadong programme launch, yesterday.

Nancy, who is also the Batang Sadong MP, explained that MyCSR is a programme developed by MyCEB, an agency under the Motac.

She said it is a platform for delegates of business events, namely conferences, conventions, meetings, as well as the corporate incentive groups, to contribute their energy, expertise and financial assistance in efforts to assist and improve the socio-economic status of the local community.

“In line with the “Keluarga Malaysia” concept introduced by Prime Minister Dato Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, the involvement of business event delegates in the MyCSR programme is not just about channeling contributions.

“In fact, it will forge a new bond of friendship within the community, sharing unique experiences and inspiring all other levels of society to share their advantages with those in need,” she added. — DayakDaily
