KUCHING, April 16: Caretaker Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak met with Barisan Nasional (BN) Members of Parliament (MPs) at Putrajaya this morning.

In line with what was predicted by DayakDaily yesterday, during the meeting, Najib thanked the MPs who were elected in the last general election (GE13) for supporting him and BN. Najib also asked that they continue to support him and the coalition even if there might be some who will not be selected to contest for the coming GE14.

According to a source, the meeting was informal, friendly and very much focused on kinship and the BN family spirit.

Najib also said that the opportunity to be nominated will be given to those who are loyal to their respective party leadership.

According to another reliable source, there were also some MPs who attempted to meet Najib personally for undisclosed reasons. Whether they were successful or not could not be confirmed.

The fact that Najib felt it necessary to organise such a meet-up may indicate that BN sees internal sabotage as a real threat in GE14.

Whether the session will actually placate those who want but may not be renominated to contest in GE14 remains a question. — DayakDaily
