MIRI, Jan 9: An old white Proton Saga that was found abandoned by the roadside of Jalan Peninsula, near Kampung Pulau Melayu and Piasau Camp here, is shrouded in mystery.
Residents living around the area first noticed the vehicle at about 5am yesterday, and when it remained there until last night, they alerted members of Saberkas and Piasau Resident Committees (RC).
Thus far, the identity of the car owner has not been ascertained even though the car has a plate number.
According to an RC member, when met at the scene, a pair of slippers was spotted next to the unlocked car. Inside the car, they found a pouch and several packets of cigarettes on the front passenger seat.
There was also what appeared to be blood stains on the driver’s door.
“It is a sort of a mystery and, frankly speaking, quite eerie,” admitted the RC member.
“So many unanswered questions. For instance, who drove the car here and where is the driver now?” he wondered.
A police report has been lodged concerning this episode. — DayakDaily
