MyKid applications to resume on July 29 at all JPN offices

KUCHING, July 25: The National Registration Department (JPN) has announced that applications for MyKid, the Malaysian identification card for children, will resume on July 29 across all JPN offices.

According to a press release issued by JPN today, this follows a temporary suspension due to a shortage of chips required for the cards.

JPN clarified that individuals who had previously applied for MyKid and possessed an application receipt but were unable to receive their card due to the delay should confirm their card’s printing status on the official JPN portal (www.jpn.gov.my).

Once confirmed, applicants can collect their cards from the selected JPN office.

The department further emphasised that the verification period extends from July 29 to Oct 31. Applications not verified within this period will be cancelled, and applicants will need to reapply.

JPN urged applicants to ensure timely collection of their MyKid cards to prevent an excess of unclaimed cards, which would be a financial loss for the government.
