SIBU, Aug 17: A Myanmar national who jumped into the river for a swim after a haircut is feared drowned.

The victim, identified as Si Thu Htun, 21, and a colleague decided to go for a swim at 12.40pm right after his haircut on the boat that was berthed at the Jalan Ding Lik Kong wharf yesterday.

According to the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre (PGO), based on information collected from the employer, Si was swept away by strong currents.
