Body of Indonesian man mauled by croc found

LUNDU, Aug 17: The body of an Indonesian man, feared to have been devoured by a crocodile while fishing at Sungai Stoh in Rambunan here, was found at 3.05pm today.

Ridwan Jayadi, 25, was last seen fishing on the banks of Sungai Stoh near his house at 2.40pm yesterday when a crocodile suddenly appeared and dragged him away.

According to some villagers, he had jumped into the river after the net used for fishing was entangled in the water.


Search and Rescue (SAR) team comprising of Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), police, Civil Defense and villagers continued the operation within a radius of 2 kilometres around Lubok Kertang River earlier today.

They finally found him trapped in between the mangroves along that river.

His body was later lifted into a boat and handed over to the police.— DayakDaily
