MYAirline to start flying KL-Sibu route on Jan 18, KL-Miri on March 1

KUCHING, Jan 10: Malaysia’s new low-cost airline MYAirline will be launching its new Kuala Lumpur to Sibu route starting Jan 18 followed by its Kuala Lumpur to Miri route on March 1. 

The Kuala Lumpur-Sibu route will see 14 flights weekly, while the Kuala Lumpur-Miri route with have seven flights weekly initially which will be increased to 14 times starting March 15.

Ministry of Transport (MOTS) Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin announced this after leading a delegation from Sarawak including Deputy Minister (Aviation and Road) Datuk Dr Jerip Susil, Deputy Minister (Riverine and Marine) Dato Henry Harry Jinep to visit the MYAirline Sdn Bhd headquarters in Subang Jaya, Selangor today.

“MYAirline CEO (chief executive officer) Rayner Teo has given his assurance that all MYAirline flights to and from Sarawak will use the aerobridges,” Lee said in a statement today. 

During their meeting, Lee also proposed that MYAirline consider operating some of their international flight routes from Sarawak in their expansion plan. 

“Other matters discussed include the potential of new routes to or within Sarawak, flight frequency, passenger services, airfare and exploring potential areas of collaboration with MOTS and the industry,” he elaborated. 

The Sarawak delegation was also given a briefing on MYAirline’s background operation and future planning, especially their operation in Sarawak, apart from touring the various divisions in their headquarters.
