KUCHING, Jan 19: MYAirline, Malaysia’s second low-cost airline, has launched its inaugural flight from Kuala Lumpur to Sibu yesterday (Jan 18).
According to the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), the new route will fly twice daily, putting MYAirlines in competition with Malaysia’s low-cost carrier, AirAsia.
When the route is available for booking, one-way fares begin at RM89.
Passenger Mohd Saufi Omar expressed his delight at being among the first to use MYAirline’s route from Sibu to Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
“I made a reservation as soon as MYAirline opened bookings for this route on Dec 5,” he said.
MYAirlines also ran special promotions such as the ‘Free Seat’ promotion, which offered one-way fares as low as RM31 for each passenger without baggage or seat selection.
MYAirlines is also promoting low-cost fares to Sarawak for travel bookings until July 31, 2023, which ends on Jan 19, 2023.
This one-way fare costs RM59 along with 15kg of luggage and free seat selection. — DayakDaily
