Multistorey parking hall and Block C of Medan Niaga Satok to be ready by May 2022

KUCHING, April 2: The upgrading works on Medan Niaga Satok (MNS) are currently ongoing with certain trading spaces expected to be ready earliest by May this year.

Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee said this will include a multistorey parking hall and Block C.

“The Sarawak government has allocated a total of RM7 million for the improvements (on MNS) made with Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) for the convenience of entrepreneurs in Kuching.


“This is a big project since 2013 and the project scope involves construction of a parking hall and upgrading of Block B, C and D,” he said during his work visit to the site today.

The basic cost of the project is RM46.6 million built on a site of 12.25 acres by providing 995 business lots in six main components namely Block B (wet products), Block C (dry products), Block D (Plaza), Block E (food and beverages stalls), Wholesale Market and Sunday Market with a total of 947 participants with a sales value of RM47.8 million.

“A total of RM7 million has also been allocated in the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) to upgrade 15 trading venues throughout Sarawak during the 12MP. We also welcome the cooperation from the Sarawak government to fund the improvement of the facilities,” he added.– DayakDaily
