ā€œDuring my audience, I have submitted my resignation letter as prime minister and the whole Cabinet under Article 43(4) of the Federal Constitution because I have lost the majority support of MPs.

ā€œThis means the Cabinet and I have resigned.

ā€œAlthough earlier on, there was a proposal for my validity as the prime minister to be decided in Parliament.

ā€œNonetheless, 15 Umno MPs have withdrawn their support for me and the proposals for cross-party bipartisan cooperation was rejected by the opposition parties.

ā€œClearly, these are indications that I have lost the majority support and therefore there is no need for a vote of confidence as prime minister to be decided in Parliament,ā€ he said during a live telecast through Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) at Kuala Lumpur today.
