MIRI, Nov 8: The Ministry Of Education’s decision to close all schools in Sarawak starting from tomorrow (November 9) until January 20 next year following a spike in Covid-19 cases is the best move to curb the virus from spreading further.
Parti Islam Se-Malaysia (PAS) Sarawak deputy commissioner Muhtar Suhaili asserted that PAS has been always supportive of the government’s efforts towards preventing further spread of Covid-19.
“This move I believed is to curb the transmission of Covid-19 pandemic.
“The safety of the students and teachers is always the major consideration in this matter,” he told DayakDaily here.
Muhtar encouraged the schools and students to do home base learning and creative learning.
The school closure was announced today by Minister of Education Mohd Radzi Md Jidin during a press conference held in Kuala Lumpur.
Mohd Radzi said that the schools closure involved five million students and 500,000 teachers nationwide. — DayakDaily
