KUCHING, Jan 25: The RM597.58 million Muara Lassa Bridge project is expected to be fully completed in December this year.

Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Port Development, Datuk Aidel Lariwoo said the 2.5km-long bridge which is the second longest bridge in Sarawak, has reached 87.77 per cent progress in its implementation.

According to a Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) news report, Aidel in a recent visit to the project site expressed satisfaction over the progress of this State project because it is one of the bridges that have been built devoid of issues and problems following smooth project implementation.

Meanwhile, Daro assemblyman Safiee Ahmad thanked the Sarawak government and more so the Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg for approving the construction of the Muara Lassa Bridge.

He said the bridge will be a ‘gamechanger’ by bringing development and economic opportunities to the people of this area. The people, however, need to be ready to embrace this latest progress by making full use of the conveniences provided by the government to generate more household income.
