Citadines Uplands Kuching, Rume Hotel offer special discounted rooms to HSL Samarahan Marathon runners starting Feb 15

KOTA SAMARAHAN, Jan 25: Citadines Uplands Kuching and Rume Hotel, as partners of the upcoming Hock Seng Lee (HSL) Samarahan Marathon, are offering special discounted rooms to all registered runners.

Citadines not only provides discounts for Studio Premier Rooms and One-Bedroom Apartments with breakfast included, but also free transportation to and back from the marathon starting line at La Promenade Mall.


The discounted packages for Studio Premier Rooms start at RM215++ per night while that of One-Bedroom Apartments start at RM245++ per night.

Meanwhile, Rume Hotel is offering discounts on all their available rooms, including the Executive King which can accommodate two adults plus one child, starting from RM168++.

Both hotels are located centrally, surrounded by plenty of food options, and are located between Kuching International Airport (KIA) and La Promenade Mall.

Citadines is near tHe Spring Mall while Rume Hotel is within the bustling Gala City commercial park, all within 15 minutes’ drive from La Promenade Mall.

Bookings for the special packages will be open on www.discoverasr.com (Citadines) and rumehotel.com.my (Rume Hotel) starting Feb 15 through promotional codes given during marathon registrations.

According to Citadines operational manager Alexander Tay and Rume Hotel general manager Izora Lim, there are respectively 215 and 44 rooms available at Citadines and Rume Hotel for this special campaign.

HSL Realty Sdn Bhd director Yu Ji, who is also the organising committee co-chairman, expressed gratitude to the hotels for generously supporting the first ever HSL Samarahan Marathon, which is a continuation from HSL’s Fitness Weekend in 2021.

Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS) chairman Dato Peter Minos, also co-chairman of the organising committee, said the marathon portrays Samarahan as one of the most eventful towns in Sarawak.

“We want to promote Samarahan’s key places like Unimas (Universiti Malaysia Sarawak) and various shopping malls here. There will also be a food and cultural festival organized by MPKS that will coincide with the Samarahan Marathon.

“As you know, we also have the ART (Autonomous Rapid Transit) coming up. We have completed the traffic lights and solved the traffic problem. We also have new hospitals coming up, such as the anti-infectious diseases and anti-cancer centres,” he said in a press conference at the HSL building here today.

Also present at the press conference were Citadines sales manager Elvina, Rume Hotel F&B manager Lim Hao Boon, and City Jogger’s Club committee members Lee Kong Shin, Song Khoon Sin, and Wendel Chan Book Teck.

The HSL Samarahan Marathon will be from May 11 to 12, which coincides with the Mother’s Day weekend. Super early bird registration rates from RM50 are still available now.
