KUCHING, July 27: The launching of the Visit Malaysia Year 2026 (VMY2026) and the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) Programme in Lanzhou, China, on Saturday (July 26) was more than just ceremonial, as it represents a significant opportunity to deepen tourism cooperation between Malaysia and China

In a Facebook post, Malaysia Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Dato Seri Tiong King Sing, said Both Malaysia and Lanzhou are multicultural societies that embrace harmony and mutual respect.

“Cuisine is one of the best bridges between people. For many Malaysians, our first introduction to Lanzhou was through a bowl of Lanzhou beef noodles.

“In the same spirit, we hope to introduce Malaysia to more Chinese friends through our diverse culinary offerings—from nasi lemak, bak kut teh, char kway teow, otak-otak, Nyonya cuisine, laksa, and more,” he said.

Tiong, who is also the assemblyman for Dudong and MP for Bintulu, hoped that tourism players from both sides will work hand in hand to promote each other’s rich cultural landscapes and traditions, creating win-win outcomes.

He also welcomed everyone to explore the MM2H programme and experience the high quality of life, healthcare, and education that Malaysia has to offer.

“I believe last night marks just the beginning of many more possibilities for cooperation ahead.

“Thank you for your support. May our friendship endure and our partnership flourish,” he said. — DayakDaily
