MPP to embark on road-widening project leading up to 10th Mile Market

KUCHING, July 25: A RM400,000 road widening project by Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) in front of Padawan 10th Mile Market is underway.

This was revealed by MPP chairman Lo Khere Chiang, adding that the originally one-way road – Lorong 8 Padawan up to the Padawan 10th Mile Market – is being expanded into a two-way road.

He also noted the construction is expected to be completed in four month’s time.

“The council (MPP) is spending RM400,000 to widen this road next to the market. This is under the initiative of (Kota Padawan councillor) Cr Shirley Pui who brought it up in the council meeting,” said Lo when he visited SJK C Hung Hua at 10th Mile Padawan yesterday.

During the function, Lo gave away a total of 300 school bags to SJK C Chung Hua, SK Landeh and SK St. David in Padawan area for the needy students as schools reopened after closure due to Covid-19. —DayakDaily
