KUCHING, Oct 14: A barrier has been installed along Jalan Segubang in Padawan to prevent unauthorised earthwork activities from entering the area without a valid road permit.
Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) chairman Tan Kai said the unapproved earthwork activities had caused inconvenience to local road users and damaged roads maintained by the Council.
“Despite repeated engagements with the landowner and instructions to obtain the proper road permit, compliance was not met,” he said in a statement today.
As a result, MPP has taken firm action by installing a barrier to halt all ongoing activities at the site.
Tan reminded all parties to act responsibly when using public roads and to comply with Council regulations.
“Road safety is a shared responsibility, and the Council will continue to work closely with the relevant authorities to enforce compliance and protect road users,” he added.
He further reminded all developers undertaking works that involve the use of Council roads to obtain the necessary road permit and remain mindful of public safety at all times. — DayakDaily
