MPP chairman: Kota Padawan Recreational Park another landmark in the region

KUCHING, Nov 19: The new Kota Padawan Recreational Park is an important landmark in the region, especially for the local community, said Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) chairman Lo Khere Chiang.

Lo, who is also Batu Kitang incumbent, said the aim of building the recreational park is to create a safe, recreational space for community members to congregate.

According to him, community parks like this normally provides a variety of benefits to the surrounding area, and are meant to have many activities and amenities to keep visitors of all ages active and engaged for an entire day.


“Because it is a safe place for physical activity, it will help to enhance and elevate the value of the property market in the immediate vicinity.

“There are also many other ways for both the residents and local government officials to benefit from such recreational parks,” said Lo in his speech during the launching ceremony of Kota Padawan Recreational Park in 10th Mile today.

The Kota Padawan Recreational Park was officiated by Minister for Local Government and Housing Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian.

The park is located near a small roundabout in Kota Padawan, after the MPP Pitcher Plant Garden.

At the same time, Lo also appealed to the public and the local community to cooperate with the council by helping to keep the park clean.

“Please do not litter or vandalise the facilities that we have provided for you here. This park is a place for you to rest and relax in and this is the special gift from the Sarawak government to you,” he added.

Also present were MPP deputy chairman Cr Dato’ Ahmad Dato’ Sri Ibrahim, MPP secretary Elizabeth Loh and other guests. — DayakDaily
