KUCHING, June 20: Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg received a courtesy call from Kota Samarahan Municpal Council (MPKS) today at his office in Wisma Bapa Malaysia.
According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), the delegation was led by Deputy Premier Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian, who is also Minister for Public Health, Local Government and Housing, together with MPKS chairman Dato Peter Minos.
Speaking to reporters after the visit, Minos said the purpose of the courtesy call was to invite the Premier to MPKS’ sixth-anniversary celebration, which will be held on November 11 this year.
“Among other matters discussed are about the projects that will be implemented in Kota Samarahan, especially under MPKS’ supervision,” he said.
Minos noted that the Premier had announced more than 600 projects to be implemented in Kota Samarahan, and about 400 projects are under the supervision of MPKS.
He said among the various project that will be implemented is the Samarahan Boulevard project.
He added that this is part of the initiative to develop Kota Samarahan into a comfortable and suitable place to live. — DayakDaily
