Motorcyclist severely injured in early morning collision with lorry at Kota Samarahan

KUCHING, Feb 28: A 20-year-old motorcyclist suffered severe injuries after colliding with a parked lorry at the side of the road in front of Aiman Mall, Kota Samarahan, early this morning.

According to reports by the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), they received an emergency call about the situation at 1.48am and quickly dispatched a team from the Kota Samarahan fire station.

At the scene, the team found that an accident had occurred involving a motorcycle crashing into the back of a lorry parked by the roadside, with an adult male victim still trapped in the wreckage.

The Bomba team responded to the situation by utilising a hydraulic ram equipment to pry open the back of the lorry to extricate the victim.

The injured rider, who suffered severe injuries to his limbs, was then handed over to the ambulance team for immediate medical treatment and further action.

After cleaning up the accident site and ensuring that the situation is safe, the team returned to the station. – DayakDaily
