KUCHING, Nov 15: A 25-year-old motorcyclist from Sibu was killed after being involved in a road accident with another vehicle along Jalan Sg Pasi in Sarikei, today.
State Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the deceased was identified as Jacky Foo Bai Xiang, from Jalan Setia in Sibu.
According to Alexson, the incident occurred at about 8.30 am, involving a mini multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) heading towards Sarikei from Bintangor, which collided with the deceased’s motorcycle that was travelling from Sarikei town.
“The deceased however, died at the scene, while the 42-year-old mini MPV’s driver was unhurt,” he said in a statement today.
Alexson noted the deceased’s remains were brought to Sarikei Hospital.
“Police have also gone to the incident location to conduct an investigation besides taking the mini MPV’s driver statements. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987,” he added. — DayakDaily
