SARIKEI, Aug 7: A motorcyclist was killed while his sister and a three-year-old boy were injured after they were hit by a four-wheel-drive (4WD) at KM25, Jalan Sebangkoi, here today.
According to a report by Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), they received the emergency call at 12.01pm before a team from Sarikei Fire Station (BBP) was despatched to the location.
“Upon arrival, the Bomba team used a hydraulic rescue tool to extricate the 4WD driver who was stuck in the driver’s seat. The driver also sustained injuries.
“Meanwhile, the motorcyclist, identified as John Manja, 39, was confirmed dead at the scene before his body was handed over to the police for further action.
“The other victims, aged 27 and 3, were sent to Sarikei Hospital before the Bomba team’s arrival,” it said. — DayakDaily
