SIBU, May 17: A motorcyclist was killed after he was rammed from behind by a car at Brooke Drive on Saturday night.
The victim had been identfied as Chipedo Lee Chi Zhen, 17, of Jalan Tekam.
Sibu district police chief, ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said in the 10 pm accident, a 31-year old contractor was driving along Brooke Drive from town.
He said the man was heading toward Jalan Wawasan when he hit the victim from behind. The victim was also travelling in the same direction.
“As a result of the collision, the victim died on the spot while the driver of the car sustained light injury. He was admitted as outpatient at Sibu Hospital,” he added.
ACP Stanley said the man was later arrested for investigation under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. – DayakDaily
