KUCHING, Feb 21: A motorcyclist was found dead in a drain after crashing into a parked 10-tonne lorry in a tragic accident along Jalan Rajang, Sarikei this morning.
According to reports by the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), they received an emergency call at 8.15am regarding the accident which involved a 10-tonne lorry parked by the roadside and a Yamaha motorcycle ridden by the victim, aged 24.
The impact of the collision sent the victim off the road and into a drain, where he was discovered unconscious.
Emergency responders, including the police and Ministry of Health (KKM) personnel were already at the location, while the fire department worked to extract the victim from the drain using a stretcher.
Unfortunately, despite their efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene by KKM officials. The body was handed over to the police for further action. – DayakDaily
