MIRI, Oct 26: A 56-year-old man died on the spot when the motorcycle he was riding was rammed from behind by a vehicle at about 6.30pm at KM117 Miri-Bintulu Road on Wednesday (Oct 24).
This hit-and-run accident claimed the life of Ngamang Kiai.
City police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah said Ngamang was riding alone and was heading towards Miri from Bintulu when the tragedy occurred.
Due to the impact of the collision, Ngamang was thrown off the motorcycle and landed several metres away on the right side of the road. His remains were later taken to Miri Hospital morgue.
The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
Police are now tracking down the driver responsible for the hit-and-run accident. — DayakDaily
