KUCHING, March 29: A male motorcyclist passed away following a collision with a car at Jalan Sarikei-Betong on March 28.
According to TVS, Saratok district police chief DSP Mathew Manggie said an emergency call was received at 4.30pm.
“Initial investigations revealed that the driver of the car, aged 48, was on the way from Sarikei to Kuching when the victim suddenly changed lanes and entered the car’s lane,” he said in a statement.
He added that the driver tried to avoid the victim but was unable to do so, resulting in the driver hitting the motorcycle.
The deceased was identified as Mohamad Idrus Mus, 51, from Kampung Tengah Meludam.
“The motorcyclist was pronounced dead by paramedics from the Saratok Hospital.
“The case will be investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.” — DayakDaily
