SIBU, Nov 8: A 39-year-old motorcyclist dies after crashing into a tree at Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman here today.
Sibu police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said the victim, Moran Gagak from Simunjan, was heading towards the city centre from Sibu Jaya when he lost control of his bike and rammed into a tree.
“As a result, the victim suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the medical personnel from Sibu hospital,” he added.
Stanley noted that the deceased, together with his motorcycle, was found at the side of the road by passers-by. However, the exact time of the incident has yet to be determined.
The body was brought to Sibu Hospital for further action.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. — DayakDaily
