MIRI, Oct 29: A teenager was spotted lying motionless next to a motorcycle along Jalan Grand Old Lady here on Sunday.
The discovery was made around 7am by passers-by, who immediately alerted the Malaysia Civil Defence Force (APM).
Three APM personnel later rushed the 19-year-old to Miri Hospital, where he was believed to have died while receiving treatment for bodily injuries.
City police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah said preliminary investigation showed that the victim was heading towards Kampung Haji Wahid from the Grand Old Lady when he somehow lost control of the motorcycle he was riding and slammed into a tree by the roadside.
Due to the impact of the crash, he became unconscious.
Police are investigating the case under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. — DayakDaily
