KUCHING, April 18: The Federal Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (Motac) welcomes strategic collaborations with various parties to boost Malaysia’s visibility as a preferred holiday destination in the eyes of the world.

Its minister, Dato Sri Nancy Shukri, said the Langkawi International Travel Bubble (LITB) pilot project had been one of the government’s references before deciding to reopen the country’s borders to foreign visitors.

The project has subsequently motivated Motac to continue to increase cooperation with various parties to accelerate the recovery phase of the country’s tourism, arts and culture industry.

“Our goal is to ensure that all industry players bounce back to generate income after two years of the economy being severely affected and even almost paralysed,” she said in a Facebook post today.

Earlier today, Motac, through its agency, Tourism Malaysia, discussed with Qatar Airways, represented by its ASEAN regional manager Dato’ Muzammil Mohamad, to ensure promotional programmes that involve online and offline media, inaugural flights from West Asia, and attractive travel packages are implemented successfully.

“Thanks to Qatar Airways, which never stopped connecting Malaysia with the world, even during the pandemic. God willing, we all pray that this cooperation will bring successful results,” she added. — DayakDaily
